Bank Staff

Staff Bank workers also known as temporary staff, play a vital role at Isle of Wight NHS Trust and are valued members of the organisation.

There are many advantages working on 'the bank'. These include:

Flexible shifts

Staff bank workers have complete control over the shifts they work. You can take on a long line of work if you want to have regular shifts, or you can take on adhoc roles when you have spare time. It’s entirely up to you.

Book shifts via the Allocate ME app

  • By using the dedicated app, you can view and book an available shift

Additional featues coming soon:

  • Access shifts at other participating Trusts in the Hampshire area
  • Quickly add expenses you are owed

Competitive pay

Staff banks rates are relative to substantive workers and are paid weekly.

Breadth of experience:

As a staff bank worker, you’ll be expected to have a certain level of experience and competency. However beyond that, being a bank worker provides a great environment to develop specialist skills to further your career.

Could you help to improve the experience of our patients?

Our volunteers are a vital part of the team. They all make a significant difference to our patients, visitors and our staff and their assistance, kindness and knowledge is greatly appreciated. With the increasing demands on NHS staff growing all the time, the need for this support is also increasing.

  • Medical Staffing Opportunities

Welcome from our Executive Medical Director

The breadth of our services and the demographics of the population presents its own unique challenges and as well as some great opportunities. We are on an improvement journey and as part of that, we are developing partnership arrangements with other organisations to ensure the future sustainability of all our services. We are currently rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.

The island is a fantastic place to live. I came here a number of years ago from another Trust and I have never regretted the move.

Steve Parker, Medical Director, Isle of Wight NHS Trust
